Saying Goodbye

A phone call like this is never easy.  A dear friend asking for a few moments to be captured because they know these moments will be gone soon.

A session like this is never easy.  Seeing the pain and fear of loss of a beloved family member.

This truly amazing family lost their precious Clay.  A long time four-legged member of their family.  I was so nervous about this session because I did not want to let this family down... for they are too special to me.  I did not want a depressing light to be cast on this.  I wanted to capture Clay's life and all of the love surrounding him, and the love for their newest fur-family member, Winchester.

Thank you for the honor of wanting me to be there for this very emotional time.  You are all a blessing to me.

The entire day... it was simply gorgeous.  From the bride and her beautiful smile... to the groom and the "smouldering look"... to the lively & entertaining bridal party... and all of the fun that was had!

Athea// Birth & Newborn

It's no secret that I LOVE birth sessions.  Being there when a family's hopes and dreams are coming true as their new little bundle enters this world is just... just... breathtaking.

I am always honored when asked to be in the delivery room or waiting in the nursery (in the event of a c-section.)  Jen and her family were so welcoming and a true joy to work with.  And an added bonus... I've had the pleasure of seeing little Athea a few times since her birth!  She is just perfect... and looks so much like her Mommy!

Lauri & Corey// The Wedding

This was THE wedding!  The wedding of my dear friend, Lauri.  The wedding that I was in.  The wedding that my son, Shawn, was in.  The wedding just days after my surgery.  And THE wedding where I was honored to have THE world's best second shooters taking over for everything that I wasn't able to cover (which was everything but the bride and groom's portraits!)  Thank you times a million, Sue & Kevin!

Congrats Lauri & Corey!!! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!!

This wedding was simply exquisite.  The mason jars, lemon water stand, photo booth props... The ceremony, the dress (wait until you see this elegant dress), the sandals on the guys, the strawberry shortcake... It was all so perfect and unique.
